Position

Kenton Historic Courthouse District (KHCD) Coordinator & Alliance Program Assistant

Summary Overview

The KHCD Coordinator & Alliance Program Assistant shall manage and have general supervision over KHCD operations, subject to overall approval of the Board of Directors and the President/CEO.  The KHCD Coordinator & Alliance Program Assistant will work to enhance the 9-block area surrounding and including the Hardin County Courthouse.  This will include working with organizations; supporting small business, entrepreneurship, retail businesses and restaurants; promoting the preservation and revitalization of the historic downtown area; developing and implementing programs that enhance the area; and promoting involvement, sustainable development and an inclusive environment.  This will also include providing support for select Alliance programs.  The KHCD Coordinator & Alliance Program Assistant shall have other authorities and duties as are delegated by the Code of Regulations or as may be delegated from time to time by the President/CEO and/or the Board of Directors.

General Information

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

Worksite: HCCBA Office, 225 South Detroit, St., Kenton, OH

This is a non-supervisory position, reporting to the HCCBA President and CEO.

Work Conditions

Office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Additional times will frequently be required.

  • This position is based on 40 hours per pay period.

Travel within Hardin County and occasional travel outside the county will be required.

Travel to and from work in all weather conditions, low or high temperatures may be necessary.

Physical

Physical activities include remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods; moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another; adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions; communicating with others to exchange information; repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers; assessing accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Physical demands include light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Preferred: 2 years in a relevant field

Compensation

Commensurate with experience.  Annual performance bonus may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the purchase of buildings and the establishment or continued operation of businesses in the KHCD.
  • Promote preservation, maintenance and beautification of KHCD structures and environment.
  • Support business owners through communication, knowledge of beneficial programs and regulations.
  • Collaborate with City of Kenton leadership to improve and promote the KHCD area.
  • Create and promote programs, or identify and support programs that already exist, which enhance the community.
  • Create and promote events, or identify and support events that already exist, which promote community involvement.
  • Collaborate with Alliance staff to support and promote select Alliance events, as directed.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers to support the work of the KHCD.

Measures of Performance

  1. Programs are well planned and have specific, measurable goals.
  2. Programs and events operate within set budgets.
  3. Information sources, such as the website and social media outlets are kept current.
  4. Collaborates with HCCBA divisions to plan interactions with members or prospective members, and keeps accurate records of interactions (most critically, all fundraising interactions).
  5. Individual represents HCCBA with a high level of professionalism, accuracy and courtesy.
